NuSmile’s crowning achievement is a new cement that’s in a class of its own

To say that Diane Johnson Krueger has learned a lot about working with crowns over the past 24 years would be an understatement of considerable proportions. Independent university studies show that BioCem delivers impressive bond strength between dentin and both zirconia and ceramic crowns. Additional studies have proven that BioCem forms hydroxyapatite, which is available to integrate with and replenish tooth structure—something that even the most advanced resin and resin-modified glass ionomer cements cannot do. Moreover, BioCem releases not only fluoride and phosphate, but calcium ions into the oral environment.

Binford stresses that BioCem has superior properties—even when compared to the newest calcium aluminate–based, hydroxyapatite-forming cements. As he points out, these first- generation bioactive cements can be wasteful and difficult to handle, and they release neither fluoride nor phosphate ions.

BioCem, in contrast, has been formulated and packaged into a convenient, simple-to-use, low-waste delivery system. Moreover, it is not necessary to prime the tooth or zirconia restorations. As a result, BioCem delivers exceptional convenience as well as time and cost savings.
