Smile Generation®-trusted dentists to provide oral health care for patients in need

The Pacific Dental Services®(PDS) Foundation is pleased to announce its partnership with the Key Free Clinic in Lakebay, Washington to provide donated dentistry to underserved patients in need. Joining forces with The Smile Generation®, on Saturday, July 27 the Foundation’s Mobile Dental Clinic (MDC) will be onsite at the clinic from 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Smile Generation-trusted dentists and volunteers will provide patients with comprehensive oral health care, including exams, x-rays, cleanings, extractions, fillings, and same-day crowns.  Jessica Ahn, DMD, a Smile Generation-trusted owner dentist of multiple dental practices throughout the state of Washington, will be on hand to serve patients on Saturday.

“I’m honored to serve the patients in Lakebay as part of our partnership with the Key Free Clinic,” said Dr. Ahn. “My goal is to make going to the dentist enjoyable for all. I look forward to meeting new patients this Saturday at the Key Free Clinic and helping them create healthier, happier smiles.” Opening its doors in 2013, the Key Free Clinic provides free medical care to people who cannot afford or reach health care. Located at the Key Peninsula Health Center in Key Center, Washington, the Key Free Clinic has become a staple in the state of Washington for its community service.

Smile Generation-trusted dentists are focused on providing oral health care to their patients to keep them healthier. This includes educating patients about the link between oral health and whole-body health – known as the Mouth-Body Connection®. Research shows that harmfulbacteria and inflammation in the mouth can indicate and even cause systemic conditions throughout the body.  Maladies of the mouth, including periodontal disease, may be linked with other medical conditions including oral cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and more.

“Being able to see and treat patients in need is the cornerstone of the Foundation’s culture of service,” said Kyle Guerin, PDS Foundation & Corporate Social Responsibility. “Patients who visit the Mobile Dental Clinic are amazed that we’re able to provide this level of service, and that they get to walk away with a new smile.”

The Mobile Dental Clinic tour will continue traveling around the United States to provide comprehensive oral health care to hundreds of patients in underserved communities. Previously, the MDC provided donated dentistry to patients at Sacramento Children’s HomeBethlehem Center in Visalia, CA, and at the Special Olympics Summer Games in Long Beach, CA. The PDS Foundation’s Mobile Dental Clinic enables Smile Generation-trusted clinicians and volunteers to provide donated dental care to people in challenged areas, and also provide dentistry to patients during major community healthcare events.
