Podium Named to Forbes 2018 Cloud 100

Posted on Monday, September 17, 2018

Podium, the leading customer communication platform for local businesses, has been named to the Forbes 2018 Cloud 100, the definitive list of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world, published by Forbes in collaboration with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures. This award comes on the heels of Podium being ranked #13 on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest growing companies for 2018 and being named the 2018 “Best SaaS Product for Small Business/SMBs” by The SaaS Awards.

"The power of the cloud has transformed the way people do business and we are honored to be recognized by Bessemer Venture Partners, Forbes and Salesforce Ventures for our innovative technology solutions that benefit both local businesses and their end-consumers," said Eric Rea, CEO, and co-founder of Podium. "We help any businesses with a physical location improve their customer interactions and drive purchase decisions better than anyone, and this award is a testament to the talent and hard work of our team in creating our platform."

As part of the rigorous selection process for the Forbes 2018 Cloud 100, Bessemer Venture Partners received submissions from the top cloud startups. The Forbes Cloud 100 judging panel, including top public cloud company CEOs, reviewed the data to select, score and rank the top 100 cloud companies from all over the world. The evaluation process involved four factors: market leadership (35 percent), estimated valuation (30 percent), operating metrics (20 percent), and people & culture (15 percent).

“For the past three years, the Cloud 100 list has identified the top cloud companies that are reshaping their respective industries,” said Alex Konrad, Forbes editor of The Cloud 100. “I am consistently impressed by the caliber of companies honored on the Cloud 100 list. It is an exciting time to a be a cloud company and founder.”

“All of the twenty-five cloud IPOs and major cloud acquisitions over the past three years have been prior members of the Cloud 100, and we absolutely expect that the dominant public cloud companies of the future will also come from this list,” said Byron Deeter, a top cloud investor and partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. “The 2018 Cloud 100 represents well over $135B in private shareholder value--an astonishing figure that reminds us yet again of the power of the cloud. The way we do business will be dramatically different as a result of these companies and I am honored to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of the founders and teams behind each company on the 2018 Cloud 100.”

“The business opportunity for cloud companies is tremendous today as capital investment, customer demand and rate of adoption continues to grow,” said Matt Garratt, Managing Partner, Salesforce Ventures. “We’re excited to see the potential of these companies and look forward to seeing what innovative technology they deliver around the world.”

Each year the CEOs of The Cloud 100 and the 20 Rising Stars companies are honored at the exclusive Cloud 100 Celebration hosted by Bessemer Venture Partners, Salesforce Ventures, and Forbes.

The Forbes 2018 Cloud 100 and 20 Rising Stars lists are published online at www.forbes.com/cloud100 and will appear in the September 2018 issue of Forbes magazine.

Panthera Dental Launches a New Division: Panthera Implant

Posted on Monday, September 17, 2018

Panthera Dental is entering in a new era by launching its newest division: PANTHERA IMPLANT. Its mission will be to provide custom-made CAD/CAM Subperiosteal implants and personalized CMF solutions. Within this division, Panthera Dental will also support a wide range of customized solutions for the anaplastology market.

For this new division, a complete website is being launched at www.pantheraimplant.com. The website will comprise 4 distinct sections and a specific ordering system for each line of products.

The anaplastology section, presenting the world’s first CAD/CAM line of products dedicated for its unique market, will allow specialists to order unique implant structures for eyes, ears, noses and other facial areas. With its partners around the world, Panthera Dental wants to show its long interest in developing this specific market by providing solutions specifically designed for those patients.

With the launch of this new division, a new product building on past initiatives is also being launched in Canada and Europe, and soon in the USA. The CAD/CAM Subperiosteal implant draws on an old concept and brings it up to date using the latest technology. From a CT scan, Panthera Dental can design and manufacture a customized implant with a perfect fit. The implant is made of titanium, an innovation in this type of implant, to enable osteointegration. One of the key features of the implant is the unique connection system that allows for easy prosthetic restoration from custom abutments, implant bars and bridges in a wide range of available materials.

“Today, there are no good solutions for partially edentulous patients that lack bone in the posterior mandible area. Bone grafting surgery is very invasive and difficult, and has a low rate of success. With our new titanium CAD/CAM Subperiosteal implant, we hope to provide a revolutionary solution. Do far, multiple cases have been recorded during our five years of R&D with a 100% success rate. We are very confident that every dentist who will try out implant will have found a new standard for this type of patient.” Béatrice Robichaud, Co-Founder of Panthera Dental.

About Panthera Dental

Headquartered in Quebec City, Canada, Panthera Dental is a world leader in CAD/CAM implant solutions and dental sleep appliances. Both a pioneer and a leader, Panthera Dental has successfully combined creativity, science and know-how to develop its proprietary innovative technology and is now able to offer next-generation products to the dental industry worldwide.

Azento is a single tooth replacement solution, highly customized to the needs and timeframe of dentists and patients, which revolutionizes the digital implant workflow by streamlining implant planning service, purchasing and delivery. Dentists will receive a precise, customized digital treatment plan based on each patient's digital scans, with imaging systems such as the Orthophos SL and intraoral scanners like the CEREC Omnicam, submitted through a case management portal. Azento includes all components and instruments necessary to complete an implant treatment, including a surgical guide, implant and custom healing abutment, delivered within five business days of approving the treatment plan. This eliminates the effort of coordinating purchases with multiple suppliers and monitoring inventory in the office.

"It is designed to help dentists select the best-fitting implant, determine optimal implant positioning, healing environment and restoration for each case."

Azento enables practices to achieve consistently excellent results thanks to the customized and prosthetically driven treatment plan, based on each patient's digital scans. It also includes a custom healing abutment, contouring the emergence profile and enabling a final esthetic result.

Furthermore, with Azento, dental professionals will receive custom digital treatment plans that will help communicate the procedure clearly to patients, who will also benefit from the reduced number of visits and chair time.

"The Azento team supports me in planning a truly restorative driven implant placement, reducing the risk of complications, ensuring accuracy and producing excellent results," said Dr. Daniel Butterman, dental surgeon in Centennial, Colorado.

Azento works with the Astra Tech Implant System® and Xive®. It also includes an Atlantis® custom healing abutment and optional temporary restoration. The final restoration can be performed with Atlantis and CEREC or through an Atlantis dental lab.

New Implant Post-Op Care System from OraCare

Posted on Thursday, September 13, 2018

The new Implant Post-Op Care System from OraCare is a simple solution to protect implants from the number-one cause of failure — peri-implantitis.

Studies show that as many as 10% of all dental implants fail, with the main cause being peri-implantitis. 47% of all dental implants have been shown to have peri-implantitis, which can affect the stabilization of the implant and thus cause failure. Peri-Implantitis can also cause the tissue to shrink, resulting in a poor cosmetic outcome. OraCare’s Implant Post-Op Care System was designed specifically to fight and prevent peri-implantitis.

An alternative to chlorhexidine, the main ingredients in the OraCare system are activated chlorine dioxide and Xylitol, which have the ability to eliminate bacteria, viruses, fungi, biofilm, and VSCs without causing staining and calculus buildup.

This integrated system provides an in-office gel and a take-home patient rinse. The gel offers a slower release and is three times as strong as the rinse to make a strong, positive impact right after surgery and eliminate microbes as soon as possible. As a follow up, patients take the rinse home and use it for the next month at least -- although many use it indefinitely because they enjoy the clean feeling it leaves after use.

This system was created after dentists who placed implants saw the great results that OraCare's Activated Oral Cleanser had on the tissue around the surgical site. They had never seen tissue respond so well in such a short time and felt that patients would benefit from a gel applied after initial placement in tandem with the rinse.

The system is designed for placement after surgery, but also can be used to rehabilitate an implant with peri-implantitis.

This breakthrough product protects the investment that both the doctor and patient make on implants.
