Bluelight Analytics, a dental curing expertise company based in Halifax, NS has just been granted US patent No. 11,850,109 for the technology behind its CheckUp Smart Radiometer. The CheckUp Smart Radiometer utilizes precision optical sensors and machine learning algorithms to accurately bring laboratory grade curing light testing to dental clinics around the world.
“This patent award is the culmination of over a decade of research and development with some of the top minds in the world of dental academia. No other radiometer on the market today has the vast amount of data and analytics behind it,” said Chris Felix, Chief Scientist at Bluelight Analytics. “This technology affords dental staff the reassurance that they are delivering optimal light output to their restorations so that patients get top notch dental care.”
The CheckUp Smart Radiometer takes into account curing light output, coupled with curing tip circumference and crosses this information to a back-end data base of thousands of light-cured materials to offer recommendations on curing times and compatibility. All this analysis is distilled down into a simple stop-light style output to allow dental staff to make decisions on the state of their curing light in coordination with their materials to ensure proper curing and fewer remakes.
