ROE Dental Laboratory Earns Honor

Posted on Thursday, October 2, 2014

Garfield Heights, Ohio - The National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL) has announced that ROE Dental Laboratory in Garfield Heights, Ohio, is the most recent dental laboratory to receive DAMAS accreditation in North America.

The DAMAS (Dental Appliance Manufacturers Audit System) is an internationally recognized process on quality assurance and manufacturing practices specifically developed for commercial dental laboratories. Achieving DAMAS accreditation requires passing a third party audit inspection and takes considerable investment by a laboratory operation to implement the comprehensive standards and requirements of the system. Forward-thinking laboratories go through the process of implementation to improve their manufacturing operations as well as to ensure better documentation and case handling of dental patient cases prescribed by dentists.

Less than 1% of dental laboratories in North America have been recognized as DAMAS accredited. The process was established originally in the United Kingdom and now is in place in Europe, Asia, and Australia in addition to North America.

“For our organization and the many dentists and patients we service, we are pleased to have met the DAMAS and FDA standard of excellence, traceability, and continuous improvement for quality and manufacturing practices (“cGMP”). Our clients are assured that ROE is a compliant laboratory that adheres to a universal standard of management practices; that our entire supply chain is held to the same standard; and that all our restorations are produced under the highest dental industry standards throughout the entire manufacturing process,” said ROE President B.J. Kowalski.

The DAMAS process is administered through the National Association of Dental Laboratories, which is a trade association representing commercial dental laboratories. NADL is the unified voice for the dental laboratory industry, supporting the dental profession and serving the public interest by promoting high standards.
