New Dental CE on Oral Manifestations of Sexually Transmitted Infections

Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

Chicago, IL — The Richmond Institute for Continuing Dental Education has published a new infection control CE course titled, “Oral Manifestations of Sexually Transmitted Infections.” This course was written by Louis G. DePaola, DDS—a professor for the Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences at the Dental School for the University of Baltimore, Maryland—and is available online as a self-instructional course worth 2 CE credits.

Like many other systemic diseases, the dental profession is becoming an early line of defense against the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) throughout the general public. This course, in particular, focuses on the most common STIs in the U.S. today, and the oral manifestations that develop throughout various stages of these diseases. Dental professionals will learn how to identify oral symptoms of STIs among their patients, and recognize when a referral to a medical physician is necessary for a proper diagnosis.

As with all CE courses on The Richmond Institute website, the article is free to view or download by anyone in the oral health industry. For more information, please contact support@richmondinstitute.com, or visit richmondinstitute.com to view all CE courses and other related materials.
