Dental Implant Experts Explore New Technologies in Abu Dhabi

Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

Exploring new technologies, innovations, and materials, as well as helping practitioners to make the right decision on why, when, and how to use dental implants, was the aim of the second International Team for Implantology (ITI) Congress Middle East in Abu Dhabi. More than 450 participants attended the congress.

“A major proportion of the audience came from Arab countries, but we were happy to see participants from all over the world. We were also very pleased to welcome many non-ITI members and give them the opportunity to get to know the ITI and its philosophy a little better during the congress,” said Ninette Banday, Education Delegate of the ITI Section Middle East, which has close to 250 Fellows and Members.

The 2-day congress included a wide range of lectures presented by top national and international speakers, among them were Hans-Peter Weber (USA), Urs Bragger (Switzerland), and Mauricio Araujo (Brazil).

“They provided a vibrant platform to share ideas, explore the potential of new advances in technology, and foster closer ties,” said Banday. “Their analysis and discussion of different challenging situations in implant dentistry was highly appreciated by the participants.

“It was wonderful to be able to bring together very experienced as well as younger dentists who aspire to specialize in implant dentistry, all sharing their ideas and experience,” she added.
