Efficient Technology Maximizes Patient Comfort

Dunn uses™ In-Office Solution from Glidewell Dental to deliver same-day restorations

When Kristin Dunn, DMD, took over her practice in Bayville, New Jersey, last summer, one thing that she wanted to continue to emphasize was new technology. Her practice, Dunn Dental, would prioritize using state-of-the-art equipment and materials to make patients as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

"Typically, patients do not look forward to dentist appointments," Dunn says. "Therefore, we want to make their visits as comfortable as we can."

Dunn is also aware that patients want to complete treatment in as few visits as possible, so she has been offering same-day crowns for several years.

"Patients are often short on time, so we try to accommodate them," she says.

"The system works well and allows us to fabricate great restorations," Dunn says. "Our assistants handle a large portion of the scanning in our office, and they find it to be very user-friendly."

"Any time that we have needed help, we have been able to quickly connect with support staff, and they have been very knowledgeable," Dunn says.

Most patients prefer scanning to conventional impressions, she says, so they really appreciate the technology.

"Every time we bring the scanner into the room, whether it is for restorative treatment, clear aligners, or just to track the health of patients' teeth, they are immediately impressed," Dunn says. "The big screen allows them to get more involved in their care and more excited about it."

When the patient is comfortable and happy with the treatment, Dunn has achieved her primary goal.

"I purchased the system to optimize the patient experience," she says, "and it has been a success."
