Sirona’s CEREC® 27 and a half year Anniversary Celebration

More than 4,000 dental professionals gathered in Las Vegas to witness the launch of the new CEREC Omnicam 3D intraoral camera and Schick 33 intraoral sensor.

In August, a record number of dental professionals gathered in Las Vegas at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino for Sirona’s CEREC 27 and a half year Anniversary Celebration, where they witnessed the launch of two major products: the new CEREC Omnicam 3D intraoral camera and the Schick 33 intraoral sensor.

Sirona Chairman and CEO Jost Fischer launched the CEREC Omnicam and new Schick 33 sensor by unveiling the products center stage in front of thousands of enthusiastic customers and dental professionals. Attendees were treated to detailed clinical presentations of the products from Sirona advocates Dr. Sameer Puri and Dr. Andreas Bindl as well as dozens of other notable speakers and educators.

“The CEREC 27 and a half Anniversary Celebration is another milestone event for Sirona,” Mr. Fischer remarked. “With the launch of two key new products, Sirona has once again demonstrated its commitment to investing in research and development in an effort to improve patient care and our customers’ practice lifestyle.”

More than 600 dental professionals arrived a day early on Wednesday, August 15, for Sirona’s CEREC Discovery and 3D Summit sales events. These highly successful peer-to-peer events provided a first-class educational experience, giving dentists the information they need to make an informed decision about incorporating in-office CAD/CAM and 3-D cone beam technology into their own practices.

Other highlights of CEREC 27 and a half included these noteworthy events:

Live video coverage from the event on www.sirona.com, and www.cereconline.com. Interviews are now available featuring Sirona executives and General Session speakers.

After the education program on Friday evening, comedy icons Steve Martin and Martin Short performed their unique live show, titled “A Very Stupid Conversation.” The hour-and-a-half performance entertained everyone after an exciting full day of presentations.

Sirona hosted a VIP party on Saturday night. The “Red Carpet Bash and a half!” was a celebrity/VIP-themed party held at Las Vegas’s famous TAO Nightclub.

Sirona Introduces the New CEREC® Omnicam

A major part of the CEREC 27 and a half Anniversary Celebration was the launch of the new CEREC Omnicam.

CEREC Omnicam’s revolutionary design features a completely new, ergonomic handpiece and special optics to guarantee unsurpassed intraoral access. New ColorStreaming allows continuous capture of the oral cavity as well as displaying the 3D data in full color—an industry first. Operator convenience has been greatly improved by making the system completely powder-free while retaining Sirona’s high standards for precision.

Designed for Access

A slim, rounded camera tube allows easy rotation of the camera in the intraoral space. The tiny camera tip guarantees the best lens positioning anywhere in the mouth.

ColorStreaming for Confidence

As the camera moves over the teeth, a photorealistic image is displayed in full color with crisp clarity and impeccable detail, delivering a new level of clinical confidence.

Powder-Free for Convenience

No need to apply reflective medium makes capturing images easier and faster than ever—and with Sirona’s industry-leading precision. According to Dr. Joachim Pfeiffer, vice president, CAD/CAM and chief technology officer for Sirona Dental Systems, “The development of the CEREC Omnicam represents a technical revolution, optimally balancing the needs of perfect operator convenience in handling, with highly precise restorative outcomes. We have achieved an elusive goal by marrying the precision of the market-leading CEREC Bluecam with unsurpassed ease of use.”

CEREC Omnicam perfectly balances all requirements for a chairside CAD/CAM camera with operator convenience while introducing another Sirona first—full color. Other new features and benefits include:

The ability to record 2D and 3D data, the first intraoral camera to do so

Captures half-arch and full-arch impressions with industry-leading speed

The ability to automatically eliminate substandard images

Provides a uniform field of illumination for increased precision
