Pulpdent Embrace™ Pit and Fissure Sealant Now Available In Unit-Dose Pipettes

Embrace™ WetBond™ Pit and Fissure Sealant is now available in unit-dose packaging. Embrace sealant, by Pulpdent Corporation (Watertown, MA), bonds to the moist tooth, and Embrace Sealettes provide an easy way to dispense and use the sealant.

Embrace Sealettes are pipettes containing 0.2 mL of Embrace Wetbond Pit and Fissure Sealant, an amount sufficient to seal four teeth. The user snips off the narrow end of the pipette and gently squeezes the bulb to dispense the sealant. This is a dispensing system where inventory control, cost control, and cross-contamination are major concerns.

Embrace™ WetBond™ Pit and Fissure Sealant bonds chemically and micromechanically to the moist tooth, integrating with the tooth structure to create a strong, margin-free bond that virtually eliminates microleakage. It is tooth integrating and fluoride releasing. After light-curing the sealant, the practitioner cannot find the margin. Sealettes are sold in packages of 50 and are available from dental dealers.

BioModels Aid Good Outcomes in Orthodontics

BioMedical Modeling, Inc (Boston, MA) is now providing orthodontists with anatomically-accurate, translucent BioDental™ models that clearly show teeth and roots, bone structure and density, and sinus/maxilla features—details that can be hard to discern from plaster models and 2-dimensional x-rays.

BioDental models are made using CT scan data to guide a laser that sculpts photopolymer resin into a solid stereolithographic model. For more information, contact BioMedical Modeling, Inc at 1-888-246-6633.

Dentrix Releases Practice-Management System
Dentrix Dental Systems (American Fork, UT) has released a new version of its clinical- and practice-management system, DENTRIX G2.

An entirely new feature is the 3-dimensional modeling view, which accumulates data from the tooth chart and creates a more lifelike representation of the patient’s oral condition. Doctor and patient can view the representation with or without gums, rotate or move teeth, open or close the bite, or view in a linear or arch view.

DENTRIX G2 includes enhanced and new treatment planning features. Doctor and staff can create multiple treatment plan cases with drag-and-drop simplicity. A new report details what cases have been accepted and completed and which have not—another feature to help the practice realize planned productivity. Each case can be printed for the patient to take with them.
