Tetric EvoCeram Earns Top Scores from Dentists

In a recent survey of more than 700 dentists in the United States and Canada, Tetric EvoCeram—Ivoclar Vivadent’s nano-optimized universal composite—was awarded an average rating of 4 out of 5 for every criteria evaluated. Of dentists surveyed, 94% of respondents said they would recommend the product to other dentists. Samples of Tetric EvoCeram universal composite were mailed to dentists, along with an evaluation card to rate multiple categories. These included handling properties, consistency of anterior restorations, consistency of posterior restorations, sculpting and modeling properties, finishing and polishing times, final gloss, and shade matching.

“We provide composites to satisfy all types of dentist demands,” says Dr. Michael A. Gaglio, vice president of marketing for Ivoclar Vivadent. “For those who want only the ultimate in esthetics, we offer 4 Seasons. For those who want the absolute lowest wear, we offer Heliomolar. But for those who want a single composite for universal use that has the low wear of a microfill, the strength of a microhybrid, and superior esthetics that are fast and easy to achieve, Tetric EvoCeram is it. The evaluation results prove it.”

Although nanotechnology is a new buzzword in the industry, Ivoclar Vivadent has been manufacturing composites with this technology for more than 17 years, as in its industry leading Heliomolar, which contains what has been termed “particle-in-particle” technology. Tetric EvoCeram represents the revolutionary integration of three types of nanoparticles in a single composite formula.

Parkell Opens New Headquarters
Parkell Inc., a family-owned manufacture/marketer of dental materials and electronics, recently relocated to new expanded headquarters in Edgewood, New York.

Parkell was founded in Long Island City in 1948 by the late Alex Mitchell. It relocated to Farmingdale 2 decades later. Roughly 5 years ago, it added a 10,000-square-foot warehouse plus a dental office for in-house clinical testing.

The company is reportedly maintaining the same customer contact numbers: The new mailing address is: Parkell, Inc., Box 9004, and 300 Executive Drive, Edgewood, NY 11717.
