First Colocation for Aspen Dental® and ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers® Now Open in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Posted on Wednesday, July 20, 2022

Patients Will Benefit from Full Suite of Services Under One Roof, Ranging from Preventative Care to The Treatment of Advanced Oral Disease

TAG - The Aspen GroupSM was built on the simple idea of bringing better health care to more people, and it continues to deliver on this promise every day through a portfolio of consumer healthcare brands. Today, TAG announces the opening of a first-of-its kind colocation joining together Aspen Dental® and ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers® under one roof, resulting in a more seamless and comprehensive experience for dental patients that helps them confidently take steps toward a better smile.

Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the 9,052 square-foot colocation provides a broader spectrum of patient services than can typically be obtained in a traditional dental office. Under the colocation model, Aspen Dental and ClearChoice patients can now receive routine preventative care all the way up to fixed full-arch restorations, and many services in between, without having to visit multiple locations. Instead, multidisciplinary teams of doctors and specialists collaborate on-site, utilizing a shared laboratory space with advanced technology and training, to deliver the best-in-class solutions and dental prosthetics for the patient's oral health needs.

"When it comes to our patient care, practitioners will communicate and work together to come up with the best treatment plans for their patients' needs," said Bob Fontana, founder, chairman, and CEO of TAG. "By bringing Aspen Dental and ClearChoice together in one location, we are able to provide outstanding care, convenience, and unique collaboration among doctors and their dental patients."

This concept is familiar to ClearChoice, as the network was born from the idea that there had to be a better way for patients to receive their dental implants. In more than 75 locations across the country, ClearChoice brings together prosthodontists, oral surgeons, and lab technicians under one roof to deliver a more seamless treatment path for patients with advanced oral disease.

"The colocation between Aspen Dental and ClearChoice is a continuation of our promise to always put the patient first and to move forward with the right treatment plan no matter where they are on the oral health spectrum," said Kevin Mosher, CEO of ClearChoice Management Services.

Located at 10010 Coors Blvd. NW in suites A and B for ClearChoice and Aspen Dental respectively, the centers are now open for business and accepting new patients. Aspen Dental and ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers are independently owned and operated by individual licensed dentists and are part of a professional affiliation of dental practices conveniently located at the same location. Staff are employees of their respective individual practices. Treatment plans vary by practice.

Tab32 Launches Plug-and-Play Cloud Imaging for Dentists and Dental Practices

Posted on Wednesday, July 20, 2022

Platform-agnostic Image Cloud works with existing infrastructure to drive incredible value

tab32, the dental industry's #1 cloud technology platform, today announced the launch of Image Cloud, a game-changing new plug-and-play product that gives dental practices of all kinds immediate and cost-effective access to best-of-breed cloud-based image management, regardless of their existing Practice Management Systems, XRay Sensors and Camera hardware. Image Cloud is powered by tab32's flagship cloud solution for dental practices, which is already used by the country's premiere DSOs to manage over 100 million radiology X-rays and deliver better care to 9 million patients.

Compatible with all major dental sensors, and accessible from any computer, smartphone, or tablet, Image Cloud enables dental businesses to access the full array of cloud imaging capabilities at a fraction of the price. Users can seamlessly annotate radiographic images from within the Image Cloud system, saving time and making important notes accessible to all dental caregivers. Images can also be easily rotated, zoomed, mirrored, and edited to identify the right care protocols, or enhanced with filters to sharpen, improve contrast, and make it easier to educate patients. Built-in measurement tools also make it easier to interpret dental images, understand abnormalities, measure root depths and angles, and plan effective treatments.

Using a simple, consumer-style ecommerce portal, practices and Dental Service Organizations (DSOs) can purchase and install Image Cloud with just a few clicks, with no need to fret about compatibility issues and no need to replace or reconfigure existing software or hardware. The low-cost solution makes it incredibly fast and easy to access tab32's cutting-edge cloud technology and deploy it fast to drive collaboration and efficiency across the dental business, even in cases where practice locations use mutually incompatible legacy PMS and data management tools.

"At tab32, we're committed to democratizing access to cloud-based dental software for dental practices, while also supporting small businesses & DSOs as they seek to streamline their operations across networks of practices with legacy PMS and sensor infrastructure," said Kiltesh Patel, tab32 CEO. "With Image Cloud, we're giving dental businesses the ability to benefit from the power of tab32's incredible cloud solution without giving up their existing software or hardware. This is an incredible step forward for dental cloud-tech adoption and will bring compelling and cost-effective efficiency gains and operational benefits to dental businesses of all kinds."

Drawing on its experience migrating over 1,000 dental practices to its cloud solutions, tab32's engineers have developed a pioneering new system that enables dental practices and DSOs to adopt cloud solutions with no need for costly and time-consuming onboarding and technological migration. Image Cloud is designed from the ground up to support rather than supplant existing PMS and sensors, giving all dental businesses an easy and low-cost way to capture the benefits of cloud technologies.

Today, the Delta Dental Institute (DDI) and the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) announced two new Oral Health Equity Awards to support research that advances recommendations for greater oral health equity in populations that lack access to dental care and improves oral health literacy for underserved populations. Two awards will be conferred – one in each research area in the amount US$25,000.

"At Delta Dental, our mission is to advance the oral health of all Americans. We are pleased to partner with AADOCR to invest in critically needed research to advance access to care for all and ensure greater health equity across the country," said Vivian Vasallo, Executive Director of the Delta Dental Institute.

Applications are now being accepted through the AADOCR website and will be reviewed by an expert review panel acknowledged as leaders in their fields. The deadline for submission is October 28, 2022.

The two awards will be conferred in the form of unrestricted research grants. Award winners will be announced at the 52nd meeting of the AADOCR, and 47th meeting of the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR), March 15-18, 2023, in Portland, Oregon, USA.

New Clinical Data on LISTERINE Antiseptic

Posted on Monday, July 18, 2022

A new clinical trial conducted by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health demonstrates that LISTERINE Antiseptic is almost five times (4.6x) more effective than flossing by a dental hygienist for sustained supragingival plaque reduction following a dental prophylaxis. This long-term randomized, controlled, observer-blind clinical trial studied 156 subjects with various levels of gingivitis. The research was conducted at Salus Research, Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN. All subjects were supervised at the clinical site by a dental hygienist.

The results of this study ("Efficacy of Flossing and Mouthrinsing Regimens on Plaque and Gingivitis: A randomized clinical trial") showed that LISTERINE Antiseptic’s antimicrobial method of action is not only 4.6x more effective than flossing by a dental hygienist for sustained supragingival plaque reduction following a dental prophylaxis, but also demonstrated to be 1.8x more effective than floss for gingivitis reduction. These data demonstrate that adding an antimicrobial oral care solution to mechanical measures can deliver significant oral health benefits for patients because all can work together to attack plaque in different ways. While mechanical methods disrupt and remove plaque daily, long-term use of LISTERINE Antiseptic has germ-kill action that slows the repopulation rate of bacteria and helps reduce the entire microbial mass over time, thinning the biofilm and helping to reset a patient’s oral microbiome to a healthier state.

More detailed results of these studies and its implications for patient oral care routines are published in the June 2022 Journal of Dental Hygiene.
