Besides lithium disilicate, monolithic zirconium oxide is one of the most commonly used all-ceramic materials due to its high flexural strength and fracture toughness. With IPS e.max ZirCAD a tradeoff in translucency for strength is not required, as this esthetic zirconia material provides up to 30% higher flexural strength and 50% higher fracture toughness compared to other common higher translucency zirconia materials.
