The Evolution of NobelProcera

Precision, quality, and efficiency remain priorities even as methods change

In 1983, the introduction of the Procera method for high-precision industrial manufacturing of dental crowns represented a real, scalable change in the way dental prosthetics were produced. Then, in 1989, another big leap in function and esthetics came with the first-ever ceramic CAD/CAM coping.

From this early revolution came NobelProcera and, while things have changed a lot since then, the brand is still evolving to help dental laboratories improve efficiency and esthetics for customers and their patients.

At its recent Global Symposium in New York, Nobel Biocare revealed the next chapter in NobelProcera’s innovation story.

Strength Meets Esthetics with New Full-Contour Zirconia

The launch of the new NobelProcera Crown marks the arrival of the first in a series of options in a new high-translucency multilayered full-contour zirconia material. This new material possesses exceptional properties, combining high strength and durability with excellent esthetics. The multilayered nature of the restorations and the realistic occlusal detail mirror the appearance of a natural tooth and help save valuable time, as the technician needs only to apply final touches before delivery to the dentist.

Additionally, given that the restorations are full-contour, the risk of chipping and remakes is reduced, supporting long-term success.

New Ways to Access NobelProcera Precision

In addition to the products and solutions evolving, it’s now easier than ever to obtain precision-engineered NobelProcera restorations. One route is via the new NobelDesign CAD software, which offers dental technicians powerful CAD tools with an intuitive and adaptive interface.

With NobelDesign, dental laboratories gain access to the latest NobelProcera restorations, enabling them to deliver innovative precision-engineered prosthetic solutions to dental clinicians and their patients. The software integrates powerful exocad CAD tools for the efficient design of both cemented and screw-retained restorations.

NobelDesign is accessible in combination with the highly accurate NobelProcera 2G Scanner and is available on an annual subscription basis. This gives dental laboratories added flexibility and helps them avoid a sizeable one-time payment to start.

Investing in Quality, Not Equipment

Another access point is NobelProcera Scan and Design Services. This option makes it possible to order NobelProcera implant bars simply by sending case information to NobelProcera’s advanced industrial production facilities.

By removing the need for expensive investments and offering unrivaled results, NobelProcera’s Scan and Design Service lets laboratories take advantage of requests for high-quality implant bars that they might otherwise be forced to pass up.

NobelProcera implant bridges, abutments, and crowns are also available to users of the 3Shape Dental System™ via an open-access partnership. This means 3Shape users can follow their regular design workflows but still benefit from the high-quality industrial production for which NobelProcera is renowned.

In summary, while the principles of precision, quality, and efficiency that led to the creation of NobelProcera remain, the methods for accessing and producing the restorations have continued to evolve.

Today, no matter how dental professionals order NobelProcera products and which solutions they choose, all options lead to outstanding NobelProcera restorations, each manufactured for predictable long-term performance.
