Among the most exciting aspects of adhesive dentistry is the constant evolution of knowledge. As the industry progresses from one generation of adhesive products to the next, significant research is being conducted not only by manufacturers to improve bond strengths while further simplifying the products but also by independent researchers to improve our understanding of the mechanisms of bonding and assess the techniques that are being used for their ability to improve outcomes. Much of the research considered to be "cutting edge" can be found at universities around the world, where some of the foremost experts are conducting the studies upon which future products and techniques will be based.
