Philips Zoom Offers Clinicians a Wealth of Professional Whitening Options

Professional teeth whitening is an ever-expanding business, and, according to one of the leading suppliers of professional whitening products, Philips Oral Healthcare, patient demand for this popular dental service is now higher than ever.

Launched in 2011, Zoom WhiteSpeed features innovative light-emitting diode (LED) technology that allows clinicians to control light intensity to minimize patient sensitivity, maximizing patient comfort during in-office whitening treatments. In fact, 99% of Zoom patients experience little to no sensitivity with the new Zoom WhiteSpeed treatment, according to Jones. Philips also recently introduced a new and improved formula for Zoom DayWhite and Zoom NiteWhite with increased amounts of potassium nitrate and a fresh mint flavor to improve overall patient experience and compliance.

When patients undergo a whitening procedure, maintenance of the new, white smile must become a part of their daily oral hygiene routine, Jones notes. “Patients who undergo whitening procedures can easily maintain their beautiful white smile either through regular use of a power toothbrush like Philips Sonicare or regular touchups with whitening pens or touchup whitening gel,” she says. “The patient’s dietary habits will dictate how much they need to invest to maintain the whitening. For example, if the patients smoke, or drink a lot of coffee, or regularly consume other staining foods and beverages, they will need to make a little more effort than patients who do not. Philips offers clinicians a variety of different products to help their patients maintain their investment in their new, improved smile for as long as possible.”
