Updates on the IDT International Digital Denture Symposium and Panthera Dental, plus an article on 4D printing and a video interview with Chris Brown on printing ceramics.

Welcome to another remote episode of IDT Weekly! I’m Jason Mazda, and here’s what’s new. The IDT International Digital Denture Symposium will be held virtually this year as a live streaming event Friday, September 25. While we wish we could see everyone in person in San Antonio, we’re going to make sure the collaborative education is still top-notch. In addition to the full-day program of lectures, we’ll also have an exclusive webinar series in the weeks following. To register and see the speaker lineup, go to Panthera Dental announced the addition of Marc Morisset as Strategic Director for the Panthera Sleep division. Morisset will support the development of new innovative products, global marketing, and process organization. He’ll also work in close collaboration with the R&D team to set up new technical solutions and launch new products. This month in IDT, our annual Tech Issue features an article by Kevin Reck on 4D printing. The fourth dimension in printing is when a material can improve when subjected to light, heat, moisture, or other conditions. For dentistry, there’s so much potential for products that can exhibit improved strength and other characteristics when placed in the oral environment. We hope you’ll check out this article. Online this month at, last week we told you about Chris Brown’s article on the potential for 3D printing zirconia and ceramics, and we also have a video discussion with Chris. I asked Chris why zirconia is so sought after as a potential printed material, and I put him on the spot to guess when it might be a reality for laboratories here in the US. See what he says at under the Videos header. Well, that’s it for this week! Everyone please stay safe and healthy, and join us again next time on IDT Weekly.
