Updates on the Dentsply Sirona/3Shape collaboration and the Dental Laboratory Association of Alabama (dlaal.org), plus a cover story on chairside technology (https://www.aegisdentalnetwork.com/idt/2022/01/powers-combined) and Inside Dentistry’s annual Trends event (https://cdeworld.com/webinars/22365).

Welcome to IDT Weekly! I’m Jason Mazda, and here’s what’s new. Dentsply Sirona and 3Shape announced that they’re now providing a seamless and secure integration of Dentsply Sirona’s Connect Case Center with 3Shape’s Dental System software. The new interfaces are available to laboratories that have upgraded to Dental System Version 2021.2. The integration is part of a deal the companies announced last June to create more efficient, simplified, digitally oriented workflows. The Dental Laboratory Association of Alabama will hold its 2022 Winter Meeting on January 29 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville. Lectures will be provided by Frank Manfre and Kene Miller. Frank has authored business articles in IDT in the past, and he’ll be lecturing at this meeting on building high-performance teams. For more information and to register, go to DLAAL.org. This month in IDT, our cover story discusses how to capitalize on dentists’ new technology. So often, especially with fabrication technology and software, there’s a tendency to be concerned about dentists trying to cut the laboratory out, but the people we spoke to for this article say that there are ways that all these technologies can help the laboratory. We hope you’ll give it a read. Online this month, Inside Dentistry’s year-end event Trends: The Inside Look with Dr. DiTolla and Friends is on-demand. Earn two free CE credits by watching Dr. Mike DiTolla discuss trends in dentistry with Drs. Roger Levin, Amanda Seay, Gregg Helvey, and Chad Duplantis. Just go to insidedentaltech.com, click the Inside Dentistry tab, and then click the Webinars tab. Or, for that and other links mentioned in this episode, see the description below. Well, that’s it for this week. Thank you, as always, for making IDT your source for the latest in dental laboratory technology.
