Updates on an award for IDT board member Rob Woosley, an agreement between Nexa3D and Nowak Dental Supplies, and the Race for the Future 8.0, plus a cover story on maximizing resources in the laboratory.

Welcome to IDT Weekly! I’m Jason Mazda, and here’s what’s new. IDT Editorial Advisory Board member Rob Woosley was honored with the NADL’s Hall of Fame award for his contributions to the profession. Woosley has been a CDT for more than 30 years and is currently Vice President of Operations for National Dentex. NDX CEO Tom Daulton says Woosley “absolutely exemplifies the traits they recognize in award recipients.” Congratulations, Rob! Nexa3D announced a reseller partnership with Nowak Dental Supplies. Nowak will offer Nexa3D’s entire dental portfolio, including the NXD 200 printer, NexaX software, the company’s post-processing systems, and the full range of Keystone validated materials. Nowak President Shawn Nowak says Nexa3D printers allow customers to stay competitive and bring the speed that’s needed in today’s landscape. The Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology will hold Race for the Future 8.0 on August 28 in conjunction with the Chicago Triathlon. Since 2014, the race has raised more than half a million dollars. This year, there will also be an Education Day held the day before. For more information and to participate or be a sponsor, go to dentallabfoundation.org. This month in IDT, our cover story explores how to get the most out of your resources. We spoke to laboratory owners whose out-of-the-box thinking has helped them maximize the revenue generated from their machines, materials, and personnel. There are some really interesting anecdotes in there, so we hope you’ll give it a read. Well, that’s it for this week. Thank you, as always, for making IDT your source for the latest in dental laboratory technology.
