Exceptional Quality Inspires Confidence: IPS e.max® Press meets the highest standards with regard to esthetics, longevity and efficiency

Posted on Friday, August 26, 2022

The Ivoclar Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers of integrated solutions and a comprehensive product and systems portfolio for high-quality dentistry, is the developer and manufacturer of IPS e.max Press, an esthetic and reliable lithium disilicate glass-ceramic for the dental laboratory press technique. The product is synonymous with outstanding comfort and excellent function and esthetics combined with high strength. The original press ceramic represents the finest in dental lab technology: highly esthetic restorations, customized and handcrafted with esthetic skill and sensitivity, to delight patients*, impress dentists* and satisfy dental technicians*.

High quality and esthetics meets excellent profitability and performance

IPS e.max Press is the original lithium disilicate glass-ceramic for the press technique. The product is the result of decades of experience and constant research and development. Ivoclar’s superior-quality lithium disilicate press ceramic is designed for a wide variety of minimally invasive applications in dentistry. IPS e.max Press can look back on more than 15 years of clinical success and 97,8% survival rate**. Throughout the world, dental practitioners and technicians have been using the product with great confidence, not least because of its exceptional longevity, quality, versatility and its highly esthetic appearance.

The restorations fabricated with the material are customizable, esthetic and precise. The material is characterized by high strength and excellent fracture toughness (2.5-3 MPa x m1/2), including a biaxial flexural strength of 470 MPa. This establishes a sound basis for long-lasting restorations. Several restorations can be produced with one ingot in one press cycle, which greatly enhances the dental lab’s performance and throughput. The time-consuming build-up of restorations is eliminated when the IPS e.max Press Multi ingot is used: The world's first press ingot to feature a lifelike progression of colour additionally streamlines the workflow of the dental laboratory.

Ivoclar’s expertise in the press technique as a key to succes

Ivoclar has more than 30 years of experience in working with the press technique. The company is pleased to offer its dental technician and laboratory customers its modern, smart and intuitive Programat G2 press furnaces. They are designed to help dental technicians and dental laboratories increase the efficiency of the press ceramic workflow. Their patented and fully automatic press function (FPF) makes the press process easy and efficient: The lab technician simply places the investment ring in the furnace and starts the cycle, and the furnace takes care of the rest.
