IADR/AADR Now Seeking JDR Editor-in-Chief Applications

The International Association for Dental Research and American Association for Dental Research (IADR/AADR) are seeking an Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Dental Research (JDR) to serve a potentially renewable five-year term starting in April, 2020.

Founded in 1919, the JDR is a multidisciplinary journal dedicated to the dissemination of new knowledge in all sciences relevant to dentistry and the oral cavity and associated structures in health and disease. The JDR ranks #2 in Impact Factor of 91 journals in the “Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine” category at 5.380, ranks #2 of 91 in Article Influence with a score of 1.546 and continues to rank #1 of 91 journals in Eigenfactor with a score of 0.02095. The JDR’s 5-year Impact Factor is 5.715 — ranking #2 of 91 journals. With over 19,000 citations, the JDR also boasts the most citations in the “Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine” category.

The Editor-in-Chief, a part-time position, is responsible for the editorial duties, including review and acceptance of manuscripts, in cooperation with Associate Editors, reviewers and an Editorial Board. The Editor-in-Chief works closely with the IADR/AADR Global HQ publications staff and our commercial publishing partner, SAGE Publications, Inc. The Editor-in-Chief is a member of the IADR/AADR Boards of Directors and Councils, and the Publications Committee. The Editor-in-Chief must have a distinguished record of scientific accomplishment reflected in peerreviewed publications. Dental and/or Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) is preferred. Previous experience as an Editor or Associate Editor is desirable. The position is available April, 2020 and carries an annual stipend.

Successful applicants will be invited for video interviews in October 2019 and in person interviews on December 9, 2019.
