Seamless Workflow with vhf Z4 and exocad ChairsideCAD

Posted on Friday, November 16, 2018

vhf has developed the Z4 for the demanding requirements of prosthetic same-day restorations. Behind the futuristic housing is a high-precision milling and grinding machine for wet processing of blocks. It fabricates restorations from glass-ceramic, PMMA, zirconium oxide, composites, and prefabricated titanium abutments within minutes. With the tool-free block changer, the material block is easily mounted and can be changed in a matter of seconds. Other user-friendly innovations are the integrated PC and touchscreen for convenient workflow control. The machine is also extremely quiet. Further features include integrated compressed air and a self-opening working area door.

Björn Höppe, Head of Product at vhf, sums up another decisive advantage of the Z4: “One of our basic principles at vhf is the openness of our machines to material and software: The milling machines work with numerous CAD systems, such as exocad. With the Z4, the user is optimally prepared for the digitization of dental impressions such as same-day applications.”

Same-day restorations are a growing part of dentistry. Tillmann Steinbrecher, exocad CEO, points out that “patients are requesting it – and meeting this demand results in new challenges for dentists and labs alike. Our goal is to provide technology in cooperation with our partners that helps both clinicians and lab technicians take full advantage of digital processes – as collaborators, not competitors.”

At exocad Insights, the ChairsideCAD workflow will be presented using an iTero scanner and the Z4. With its international event for dental technicians and dentists, the software company presents the latest developments and countless possibilities of digital procedures, together with 24 partner companies. Here, top experts and specialists in the field of digital workflow present various software solutions – for everything from scanning to digital design and manufacturing.
