The Dawson Academy recognized 20 outstanding dental professionals at their annual alumni retreat on March 12, 2016 in Clearwater Beach, Fla.
“Our annual alumni retreat is a weekend unlike any other; it features unique continuing education courses, an opportunity to recognize outstanding individuals within our industry and time to re-connect with students past and present alike,” Joan Forrest, President & CEO of The Dawson Academy explained.
Dr. Peter Dawson, Founder of The Dawson Academy, shared, “Recognizing current and upcoming leaders in the dental industry is one of my favorite parts of the weekend. We are so fortunate at The Academy to be surrounded by and teach so many exceptional dental professionals. It most certainly makes selecting recipients difficult.”
Each year The Dawson Academy recognizes dental professionals for their contributions, passion and commitment to the dental field.
“Those recognized this year serve as an inspiration to those of us around them both in the dental field and within their communities,” explained Forrest.
The following are the honors and recipients awarded at the meeting.
Dr. Harry McCool
The Passion for Dentistry Award in recognition of a passion for and dedication to the dental profession.
Mr. Lee Culp, CDT
Distinguished Service Award for advancement of the dental profession through research, publication and education.
Mr. Shoji Suruga, CDT
Douglas Dawson Memorial Award in recognition of outstanding work in the field of dental laboratory technology.
Dr. Neeraj Khanna
The Peter E. Dawson Faculty Award in recognition of your commitment to and leadership of the students of The Dawson Academy.
Dr. Rajeev Upadya
The Peter E. Dawson Faculty Award in recognition of your commitment to and leadership of the students of The Dawson Academy.
The members of the Motor City Dawson Study Club in Detroit
The Study Club of the Year Award in recognition of the members’ enthusiasm for, and dedication to, practicing the Concept of Complete Dentistry®.
