James Earl Jones Hosts New "Voices In America" Segment for Public Television on Youth Nutrition

On an upcoming segment of “Voices In America,” host James Earl Jones will open a segment on the importance of youth nutrition. With obesity being such a huge concern here in America today, it is more important than ever to teach today’s generation of children about proper nutrition. Without adequate nutrition, children may fail to develop and grow as they should. Children are also at an increased risk of developing high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and chronic diseases, such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. It can also keep youth athletes from having as much energy, which leads to poor performance on the field, court, etc.

In order for today’s youth to maintain proper nutrition, it is crucial to eat a healthy diet of fat-free and/or low-fat dairy products, whole grains and plenty of fruits and vegetables. While it is fine to indulge in sugar every now and then, it is critical that children understand that the negative effects of excessive sweets, such as obesity, vitamin and nutrient deficiencies, dental cavities and more. James Earl Jones will introduce a segment that will discuss all of this and more on the upcoming “Voices In America” segment.
