Dental Wings to Show New DWLM at IDS

Posted on Friday, March 13, 2015

Montreal, Canada - Dental Wings has announced the upcoming introduction of its revolutionary Laser Milling technology, DWLM, at IDS 2015.  With DWLM, Dental Wings establishes a new category of dental production technology based on laser ablation, thus bringing additional opportunities to dentists, laboratories, and production centers to create restorations from a range of proven materials with an unprecedented level of detail.

Laser ablation technology

Integrating a process called laser ablation with closed loop 3D process and quality control, the DWLM system removes material from polymer, ceramic, or glass ceramic blocks to create the final dental restoration directly from an open .STL file. The benefits are greatly reduced operating costs, no tooling to wear or break, no cutting fluids to manage, extremely high resolution features, elimination of secondary crystallization steps for glass ceramics, reduction of chipping of thin edges, and much more. These benefits translate to higher productivity, lower total costs, and compelling results for patients.

"The phrases ‘paradigm shift’ and ‘game changing’ are truly appropriate for Dental Wings Laser Milling. This technology has the potential to re-write the rulebook for producing dental restorations. Combining DWLM with the power of our software and scanning solutions brings Dental Wings to a completely new level," says Dental Wings CEO Michael Rynerson.

Visit Dental Wings at IDS (Hall 4.2, stand J-030) for the world premier of DWLM, where the new intraoral scanner and new dekstop scanners also will be presented.
