Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

WATERTOWN, MA:  , 2013 — Pulpdent, a leading dental research, development and manufacturing company, has generously donated Embrace Fluoride Varnish to Mil Milagros (A Thousand Miracles), a nonprofit organization founded in 2007 in Boston, MA. Mil Milagros works with schools and families in underserved communities in Guatemala to improve the overall health and education of the children. They partner with the schools to implement oral health care and hygiene and train volunteer mothers and grandmothers to provide daily oral hygiene instruction and to apply fluoride varnish as part of a prevention program.

“Mil Milagros works in partnership with schools and communities in Guatemala and donors in the United States, such as Pulpdent, to prevent childhood malnutrition, improve children’s health and well-being and to help ensure that children complete sixth grade literate and able to continue their education” remarked Margaret Blood, Founder and President of Mil Milagros. “We are grateful to Pulpdent for partnering with us to provide our children fluoride varnish. Most of our children never see a dentist. The Embrace varnish, along with our efforts to promote good oral hygiene through tooth brushing, will make a lasting difference in the health of the children counting on us.”

“Pulpdent has always been committed to helping people smile with confidence and lead healthier lives. Dedicated dental providers and manufacturers have the opportunity and responsibility to improve the lives of people throughout the world” said Fred Berk, Vice President of Pulpdent. “We must rely on organizations such as Mil Milagros that coordinate preventive care programs in underserved communities. Mil Milagros has done an exemplary job serving the needs of the children and families in rural areas of Guatemala. We are honored to work with them, and we commend them for their efforts and continued success.”
