Algonquin, IL (November 2012)— The Richmond Institute for Continuing Dental Education has recently published a new course titled, Obstructive Sleep Apnea and the Role of the Dental Professionals.This course was written by Dr. Eung-Kwon Pae, DDS, MSc, PhDto help readers understand the strong correlation between sleep apnea, oral health, and other related conditions, as well as teach dental professionals how they can now help diagnose and treat this growing disorder.

Despite of decades of research on Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), there is still a limited understanding of the etiology of OSA, and how to treat it among various types of patients and specialized cases. As a response, this course reviews the most current findings on the pathophysiology of OSA, along with a summary of its clinical symptoms, as well as comparisons between adults and children diagnosed with OSA. Furthermore, it also discusses they different ways that clinicians can start identifying this disorder among patients in their own practice.

As with all Richmond Institute courses, this self-instructional course costs $20.00, and is available for a total of two CE credits.
