American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry to Host 66th Annual Session in Orlando

Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the leading authority on children’s oral health, will host its 66th Annual Session in Orlando at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel and Convention Center from May 23rd- 26th. More than 5,600 participants are registered for this year’s event.

This year’s meeting is committed to delivering the forward-thinking topics attendees have come to expect from this gathering. It kicks off with a preconference course on pulp therapy, which is an update from this fall’s Joint Symposium on Pulp Therapy and Trauma. For the first time, AAPD will offer hands-on laser workshops as a complement to the didactic courses, as well as electronic poster presentations with on-demand viewing. Attendees are in for a treat as this year’s keynote speaker is internationally acclaimed chef, philanthropist and New York Times best-selling author, chef Marcus Samuelsson.

According to AAPD President Dr. Joel H. Berg, "This year’s Annual Session is rich in science and clinical practice along with important updates. We have an exciting course on ‘Management of Interproximal Caries’ that will look at innovative approaches to managing cavities before they become a ‘cavity.’ In addition, there is also a great update on management of dental trauma. This year’s meeting is chock-full of innovative subject matter and provides an incredible opportunity to interface with colleagues from across the country and around the world. It’s truly a ‘Global World After all!’"

"The 66th Annual Session looks to be one for the record books," stated AAPD CEO Dr. John S. Rutkauskas. "Our programs, as well as the appeal of Orlando, are factors combining to attracting potentially the largest attendance ever! We are ready to deliver a phenomenal meeting."
