Approximately 600 people from more than 40 countries converged on Darmstadt, Germany, for the inaugural exocad Insights conference November 19-20. The event featured presentations about exocad’s open-architecture solutions, international guest speakers, commercial partner presentations, in-depth training sessions, networking, and more.

“Insights went incredibly well,” said Larry Bodony, President of exocad America. “There had never been a conference with so many people dedicated to the open-architecture concept in one place.”

Tillmann Steinbrecher, exocad’s CEO, gave a keynote address that included the history of the company. Bodony provided overviews of various exocad offerings, and laboratory owners Michael Anger, Vanik Kaufmann-Jinoian, Waldo Zarco Nosti, and Uli Hauschild were among the other speakers. Subjects covered included smile design, implant planning, and exocad’s new partial denture software.

“The show went very well,” Steinbrecher said. “It was a wonderful atmosphere. It inspired people by bringing together dental professionals who share a fascination not just with digital dentistry but also with a very open approach to changing the market.”

At the conclusion of the event, exocad announced that the next Insights event will be held in March 2020 in Germany. More details will be forthcoming, but Bodony expects a significant amount of anticipation based on the success of the inaugural event.

“It was really something,” Bodony said. “Everyone who attended left with big smiles on their faces.”
