New Manufacturer-Direct Pricing for Glidewell Direct’s BruxZir® Milling Blanks
An inside look at a major development
Glidewell Direct recently revealed that, effective December 1, 2018, it will be the exclusive distributor of BruxZir® Solid Zirconia Milling Blanks, allowing dental laboratories to purchase the dental zirconia at substantially reduced, manufacturer-direct prices. Inside Dental Technology spoke with Christy Flesvig, director of sales and marketing at Glidewell Direct, to learn more about this change and what it means for dental laboratories.
Inside Dental Technology (IDT): Glidewell Direct recently made a big announcement about BruxZir® Milling Blanks. Can you tell us about that?
Christy Flesvig: Yes, we’ve just announced that Glidewell Direct is now the exclusive distributor of BruxZir Milling Blanks in the US.
IDT: What does this mean for dental laboratories, and why did you decide to stop selling BruxZir Milling Blanks through other distributors?
Flesvig: By selling directly to laboratories, we can offer BruxZir at wholesale, manufacturer-direct prices, which lowers the cost of our milling blanks by 25% to 46%. We’re well aware of the challenges and price competition the dental laboratory industry is facing, and we believe these cost savings can help give laboratories a boost as they look to grow their businesses.
IDT: There are so many great options out there for dental zirconia. Why should dental laboratories go with BruxZir Solid Zirconia?
Flesvig: We certainly realize that the market has been flooded with dental zirconia options since the original BruxZir Solid Zirconia came out in 2009.
