Plac-o-Tect™

Directa AB has introduced a new tool for oral hygiene instruction. Plac-o-Tect™ is a new fluorescent plaque revealer that substitutes traditional red or blue rondell disclosing pellets. Pre-soaked pellets are rubbed on the tooth surface with the help of a tweezer, and once the patient rinses his mouth, plaque will appear in a fluorescent yellow color when exposed to a UV light. The patient can clearly see the result of tooth cleaning with the help of a mirror lamp and easily brush away visible plaque. The colored plaque is only shown when wanted and is completely invisible when the patient leaves the clinic. The system is very pedagogic and fun to use, particularly appropriate to teach children how to brush. Plac-o-Tect has a peppermint taste, is water soluble and not harmful.
