Laser Aids in Minimally Invasive Treatment

Timothy Kosinski, DDS, on DenMat’s NV® PRO3 Microlaser

Timothy Kosinski, DDS

I have been in general practice for the last 35 years, and I pride myself on making my patients' comfort a priority. One of the ways in which I strive to make my patients comfortable is by working hard to offer effective and efficient procedures at my office, and one of the most important pieces of technology that helps me accomplish this is the NV® PRO3 Microlaser-a soft-tissue diode laser from DenMat. I use this laser every day, and it allows me to offer minimally invasive treatment at a fair price. If a clinician is unfamiliar with using lasers, the technology has the potential to be intimidating. Laser devices can be used to cut, ablate, vaporize, sterilize, and coagulate tissue within the oral cavity. I believe that laser dentistry is the standard of care and that all clinicians should feel comfortable offering it in their practices.

1. The NV PRO3 Microlaser is a soft-tissue diode laser that is optimized for all of your periodontal, restorative, and orthodontic procedural needs. 2. Orthodontic patient experiencing bleeding on probing due to inflammation. 3. The soft-tissue diode laser being used for periodontal therapy to reduce the bacterial load to minimize bleeding and inflammation.

What would you tell an interested clinician? The laser can be used for periodontal, restorative, and orthodontic procedures to limit patient discomfort.

How is the laser used on orthodontic patients? You can use it to treat inflammation and gingival overgrowth, which are common among orthodontic patients.

How has it simplified your practice? With improved accessibility and visibility as well as decreased treatment times, production and patient satisfaction are maximized.
