The glidewell.io™ In-Office Solution

Expert support from implementation to ongoing design assistance

The increasingly rapid pace of the healthcare and dental industries has led to an abundance of new technologies, techniques, and products. Among these new advancements, same-visit crowns, inlays, and onlays have distinguished themselves and are quickly growing in demand and availability. It has reached the point where any practitioner interested in staying ahead of the curve should consider investing in an in-office system for designing and milling restorations.

To that end, I've chosen to work with the glidewell.io In-Office Solution, a novel CAD/CAM system that enables clinicians to design and mill restorations in their own offices using tools developed and supported directly by Glidewell Laboratories.

When it launched in Feb-ruary 2018, the glidewell.io In-Office Solution received positive feedback for being simple to use when compared with other CAD/CAM systems and for its direct link to the dental lab, which is what initially drew me to it. Because some cases are more complex than others, the system gives you the ability to design and mill crowns yourself, or to send them quickly and easily to Glidewell Laboratories for immediate assistance or completion by their experts.

When you purchase the glidewell.io system, you begin a customized onboarding process that includes onsite installation and implementation training from the experts at Glidewell Dental.

Excellent customer support is a common theme throughout the glidewell.io experience. During installation, a team from Glidewell works with you and your team, providing live, hands-on training in your office.

The glidewell.io system includes three quality components that are designed for efficiency, and the system as a whole has a small footprint, so it fits conveniently into any dental practice. Included with the system is the iTero® Element 2 Scanner, which is durably built and highly portable. Also included is the in-house software used at Glidewell, FastDesign.io, which draws data from millions of cases at the lab to provide you with accurate proposals. The other component of the system is the mill itself, which is called the FastMill.io. It is compatible with all kinds of materials; however, in my restorative cases, we get the most mileage from BruxZir® NOW milling blocks, which allow us produce solid zirconia restorations in less than 50 minutes.

I highly recommend the glidewell.io In-Office Solution to any practitioner who wants to facilitate headache-free, affordable in-office milling.
