Now the award-winning benefits of the NobelActive implant system are available specifically for the molar region. As a key product in Nobel Biocare's new complete posterior solution, the new NobelActive WP (wide platform) option is designed for optimized implant placement and emergence profiles at large molar sockets. Just like the other implants in the NobelActive family, the surgical protocol and the distinctive implant design of NobelActive WP form a unique combination that can enable Immediate Function in cases where it might otherwise be impossible.
Designed for Stability
NobelActive is known as "an implant like no other," and the 5.5 mm wide-platform variant has all the qualities that make the implant system unique. To condense bone gradually, its tapered body has threads that narrow towards the apex, while the apex itself features drilling blades to preserve bone by allowing a smaller osteotomy. This is all designed for high primary stability, even in soft bone and extraction sockets.
Figure 1 | NobelActive WP has the same distinctive design as the other variants of the NobelActive implant system, but with a wider platform. This is designed for an optimized emergence profile at large molar sites.
Devised for Flexibility
NobelActive is also one-of-a-kind in that it gives clinicians the option to adjust the implant position during insertion. Reverse cutting flutes on the apex make it possible to control the desired angulation following final drilling. NobelActive implants can also be partially reversed and then redirected to achieve the best possible restorative orientation.
Restorative flexibility comes from NobelActive WP's conical connection, which is compatible with Nobel Biocare's most innovative restorative solutions. These include cement-free options such as the FCZ (full-contour zirconia) Implant Crown, which offers high strength and avoids veneer chipping, and the NobelProcera ASC (angulated screw channel) Abutment for easier access and increased esthetic options.
The implant's back-tapered coronal design further supports natural-looking esthetics, as it can help preserve alveolar bone for better soft tissue support. At the same time, built-in platform shifting supports optimized soft tissue volume.

Intended for Excellent Patient Care
For many, NobelActive is already the implant of choice, so the new wide-platform version will be extremely welcome. Multiple features combine to make NobelActive WP unique, but in the hands of the clinician they all serve one important purpose–improving quality of life for the patient.

“With the new NobelActive WP, I’ve got a better emergence profile for a molar and I can get primary stability in a large molar site, so it’s the best of both worlds.”
