Carestream Dental’s 2013 3D Symposium

Learn how advances in 3D imaging technology can revolutionize dental practices

Carestream Dental will host its annual 3D Symposium on November 15 and 16, 2013, at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. Created exclusively for dentists, this comprehensive symposium aims to educate participants on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging as well as CAD/CAM technology. Up to 12 continuing education credits will be offered for participation in the symposium.

Guest speakers will share insights on how 3D imaging can make a practice more efficient, profitable, and successful. Clinicians can also meet other oral health professionals, giving them the chance to discuss and learn from their first-hand experience with the technology.

There will be 10 presentations during the 2-day symposium covering a variety of topics, including general information regarding the benefits of CBCT imaging and in-depth discussions about using 3D images to plan guided implant surgery, design and manufacture restorations, and perform other procedures. In addition, both days of the symposium will conclude with a panel of industry leaders, led by David Gane, DDS, vice president of digital imaging for Carestream Dental, who will answer attendees’ questions. Whether a clinician is already familiar with CBCT technology or wants to gain a foundation in 3D imaging, there will be something new for everyone.

3D Imaging 101

Presenters will discuss how 3D imaging can be used at every step of contemporary patient care, including treatment planning, consultations, and post-operative evaluations. Navigating the latest technology offerings can be overwhelming, so the symposium will also provide dental practitioners the opportunity to explore the latest CBCT systems Carestream Dental has to offer, including the CS 9000 3D, CS 9300, and CS 9300 Select. Carestream Dental’s trained team will be on hand to answer any questions about the systems or practice implementation.

Explore Advanced Ideas and Concepts

Along with covering the basics of 3D imaging, the symposium will introduce more advanced techniques to help dentists maximize their imaging capabilities. Presentations include discussions on the most efficient methods for 3D image analysis, how to recognize when one’s perceptual bias may interfere with image interpretation, and how CBCT scanning can minimize orthodontic and periodontal treatment risks. Clinicians will also get a glimpse at the latest developments in CAD/CAM technology that they can use to design and mill restorations in a single patient visit.

An Invaluable Learning Experience

With 2D images, dentists only see two thirds of the information that can be seen in a 3D image. After attending Carestream Dental’s 3D Symposium, dentists will not want to settle for anything less than 3D imaging. Registration is open until the day of the event.
