Rapid Recovery and Faster Healing

Jason Kennedy, DMD, on Trabecular Metal™ Dental Implants with BioBoost Effect™

While in dental school at the University of Louisville, I was mentored by Robert Schroering, DMD, one of the early adopters of the "All-on-4" treatment concept. I then went on to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where I attended a maxillofacial program with a focus on the pathosis, diagnosis, and treatment of head and neck trauma. However, I never lost my passion for implants, and once I completed my residency, I joined Southeast Oral Surgery. In 2012, after reading many clinical articles and talking to my Zimmer Biomet representative, I started placing Trabecular Metal Dental Implants. These implants have been a very nice adjunct to our dental implant practice, giving us confidence in selected cases that we might not have experienced with a different implant.

1. More than 30 clinical publications led to the discovery of the BioBoost Effect, a multiplication of naturally occurring growth factors that deliver faster healing and earlier bone formation than traditional implants. 2.The BioBoost Effect is the result of a proprietary combination of cancellous-like porosity and highly biocompatible tantalum. 3. Several studies have documented that, when used in a 2-week final loading protocol, the Trabecular Metal Dental Implant demonstrates a 97% to 100% survival rate after up to 5 years of follow-up.
(Contact Zimmer Biomet Dental for references to all claims.)

Do you use the rapid recovery protocol with 2-week loading? I use it frequently, and it results in a high level of satisfaction for me, the restoring doctors, and the patient.

Has your experience with the BioBoost Effect been positive? It has provided a very positive experience for me. I am constantly pleasantly surprised with the results.

What are the best features of the Trabecular Metal Dental Implant? The best features are the rapid recovery protocol and how well the implant performs in compromised areas.
