Convenience and Portability for Everyday Use

Apolinar Madrigal, DDS, on the DenMat NV® PRO3 Microlaser

My goal as a dentist is to practice minimally invasive dentistry on every patient, regardless of the specific circumstances of his or her case. Patients deserve to receive the best quality care without fear of pain or discomfort. This belief extends beyond cosmetic cases, such as those involving "no-prep" veneers, and is also applicable to many basic dental treatments. This level of care and consideration is important to me because minimally invasive dentistry not only preserves the dentition and supporting tooth structure but also minimizes pain and promotes healing. The ability to practice such dentistry would not be possible without the use of a laser. In my offices, we use the NV® PRO3 Microlaser from DenMat on a daily basis, largely because of its multiple indications for use and portability.

I have come to rely on the NV PRO3 Microlaser for many reasons but primarily for its gentle, predictable nature. In most cases, it eliminates the need for anesthesia-which is important to many patients-and provides immediate hemostasis. Furthermore, the laser cuts with a very small zone of necrosis, which allows me to perform a wide variety of procedures in which patients experience little to no discomfort, have no fear of gingival recession, and enjoy the benefits of rapid healing.

The NV PRO3 Microlaser from DenMat can be used for gingival troughing and recontouring; in combination with scaling, root planing, as well as routine periodontal treatment to sterilize the gingival sulcus and decrease bacterial count; to uncover an implant in flapless procedures; to perform gingivectomies and frenectomies; to treat aphthous ulcers; and for cuspid exposure.

Regardless of how it's used, the NV PRO3 Micro-laser scores high marks in my office for its convenience and portability. Because of its featherlight weight and cordless design, I liken it's use to carrying a pencil between operatories. This plug-and-play system comes with 12 preset procedures, and the disposable tips are offered in two sizes: standard (5 mm) and periodontal (7 mm). I also appreciate that each battery charge lasts for roughly 15 procedures at 1.2 watts of power (ie, approximately 90 minutes).

The bottom line is that by employing the NV PRO3 Microlaser in my practice, I am able to perform high-quality, minimally invasive dentistry each and every day. Thanks to its practical features, portability, and convenience, this state-of-the-art, soft-tissue laser allows me to practice at my highest level of efficiency while offering patients a pleasant dental experience. The NV PRO3 Microlaser is not just a one-trick tool; it is a must-have item in my armamentarium.
