Continuous Progress

I just returned from Chicago and another successful week at the Chicago Dental Society's Midwinter Meeting and the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry's annual meeting. The educational information was interesting and fresh. It's a great time to be a dentist.

Our March issue includes a number of different articles to not only educate you but also to get you excited about what is happening in dentistry. Our cover story explores the ever-changing landscape of dentistry and the ways that mid-level therapy is being implemented; I think you will find it interesting. Our strategy section covers the importance of having a mobile-friendly website and how Google influences its impact.

This month's CE article addresses a topic I love to talk about: the worn dentition. The interdisciplinary approach is so important in achieving the best possible outcome. Utilizing orthodontics to move the teeth into the right spots prior to beginning restorative treatment is critical.

Recently, HIV infection has not been talked about much, but we need to treat all patients as if they may have some type of infection; this month's Inside Infection Control article does a nice job of describing how that is done. In the Inside Implantology article, Bobby Birdi, DMD, MSc, and his colleagues present an implant case that utilizes digital technology from start to finish. It is amazing what can be done when different technologies are merged.

Finally, one of my favorite people in dentistry, Gary Alex, DMD, offers his views on adhesion and bonding. He has one of the smartest minds on this topic, and his passion for dentistry is contagious. Like Gary and countless other dentists who are dedicated to the profession, I am continually trying to learn about new techniques and technologies, so I hope you enjoy reading this month's articles as much as I did. Thanks for your support.
