Exceptional 3D Imaging Helps Both Clinician and Patient

Meena Barsoum, DMD, owner of Impressive Smiles in Arlington Heights, Illinois, on Dentsply Sirona’s Galileos® Comfort Plus

I started my practice from scratch in 2010, immediately following my residency. Because there were more than 100 dentists in a 5-mile radius of my office, I needed to differentiate my practice by providing a service that others couldn't provide. A service that would stand out to patients. Within 6 months, I incorporated a chairside CAD/CAM unit, and later, I added the Galileos Comfort Plus 3D CBCT scanner. This decision made a huge impact by allowing me to perform more comprehensive dentistry and helping my patients accept that dentistry.

How does 3D CBCT allow you to diagnose more confidently?

I can properly assess if there is pathosis in a tooth, visualize it, and appropriately treatment plan.

How do patients  respond?

When I show a patient a 3D image, the pathosis, and normal vs abnormal, it gives them a sense of confidence.

How does this help with implants?

With Galileos, we make surgical guides in the office, so a formerly stressful procedure is predictable and stress-free.
